AI Prompt Engineering

If you working in the IT space of Agentic AI and automation, one skill is very important, PromptEngineering!

After I did the course #ChatGPT Prompt Engineering for Developers by @OpenAI and @DeepLearningAI, last week I did some courses to optimize and increase my skillset here.

With AI agents and Agentic the skill of Prompting and PromptEngineering becomes even more important. Agents are not just chatbots, they can act, reasoning and make decisions based on your prompts.

Prompt engineering is the practice of designing and refining these prompts to guide the model in generating accurate, relevant, and context-aware responses. In the AI space Prompt Engineering is one of the key skills you should have to get the best outcome from the AI or LLM you use.

Another important point beside to generate the best outcome is the balance between costs, performance and outcome. At the end all what you #prompt will be “translated” into tokens. But more about that in a later post.

AI Agents

But what are agents and why you should care besides the fact that the whole industry talks about it?

With agents you will get the possibility to improve your productivity and make your life easier if you know how to configure, use and choose the right integrations.

An agent is not a simple chatbot as mentioned. It can be, only with the right integrations and connections it will become a game changer.

What does that means?

You can let the agent to some research for your work or sort your emails. It´s cool but not that kind of wow effect you want, right?!

But what if the agent can make the research (simple for vacation planning for flights), sent you every week a quick structured summary and if you want, book your flight depending on a certain price? Sounds better right.

And there are thousand of Use Cases out there. The only boarders are your fantasy ;-).

Really genius it will be with the integration of MCP (Model Context Protocol)! But that is part 2 of my thoughts and insides about AI and automation.
